March Meowness Charity Contest Coming Soon!
While helping people is our passion, we also love supporting great causes that make a difference in central Virginia, and beyond. One of the ways we give back is through our March Meowness Charity Contest which is a bracket-style competition featuring furry friends from all over the state of Virginia! We’re inviting our community to show off your cats and dogs, while we help raise money for two incredible local animal charities, the New Kent Humane Society, and the Norfolk SPCA.
Pendleton Law Team Marketing Coordinator Jason Marks said, “This is such a great way for people to get involved in the community, raising money for two excellent charities that go above and beyond to do a lot for animals, as well as be part of a truly fun event that fosters healthy competition, silliness, and ultimately brings awareness to the good work that these amazing organizations do for our four-legged companions.”

Anyone can submit a pet by completing the entry form on our website, and uploading a photo for a chance to win the grand prize of $250 donated to either charity of your choice! We will select 16 cats and 16 dogs to compete in the official March Meowness bracket. For every pet selected into the bracket, Pendleton Law Team will donate $25 to the New Kent Humane Society, and $25 to the Norfolk SPCA. That’s $800 total before voting even begins! One we reach the semi-final round, we’ll donate an additional $200 to each nonprofit, bringing the guaranteed total to $1,000 for each charity.

At the end of the tournament, $250 will be donated to the winning pet’s chosen charity, and $150 will be donated for the runner-up. And, the final winning pets will also receive a purr-fect trophy! Last year, our very own Julia Ward’s pup Dakota won the grand prize, and Julia chose Furbish Thrift in Richmond as her nonprofit.

Anyone interested in participating can enter starting February 20 through February 26 at noon. The bracket will be announced February 28, with first round voting March 1 – 4, second round voting March 7 – 10, third round voting March 14 – 18, the semi-finals March 21 – 25, and finals March 27 – 31. The grand prize winner will be announced April 1st!
